
Lymphatic massage
A massage in which appropriate techniques are used to improve lymph and tissue fluid circulation. The pace of the massage is very slow (approx. 10–15 movements per minute), and the techniques used are performed smoothly and gently. It is supportive treatment for mastectomy and lymphatic edema.
Indications
- Primary and secondary stasis edema of the limbs and trunk
- Edema of the upper and lower limbs during cancer treatment
- Post-traumatic exudates and swelling
- Improved functioning of the immune system
- Lower limb edema resulting from, for example, long travel
- Feeling of heavy legs with visible swelling (e.g. in people working in standing positions)
- Supporting weight loss
Contraindications
- Skin diseases
- Inflammatory process or infection in the body
- Deep vein thrombosis
- Problems with the circulatory system and heart
- Active cancer of the lymphatic system
- Elevated skin temperature
